Arieso
completes roll-out of ariesoGEO for a leading European mobile operator
Octorber
6th 2009
Newbury,
UK. 6 October 2009 : Arieso completes roll-out of ariesoGEO for
a leading European mobile operator
Arieso,
the leader in network optimisation and customer centric network
management solutions, has today announced the successful completion
of its largest roll-out of ariesoGEO, for one of Europe’s
largest operators.
ariesoGEO will provide real-time information from every subscriber
on the network, allowing the operator to make quick and accurate
decisions on where to increase network capacity and improve performance.
In addition ariesoGEO enables the operator to manage its VIPs and
offer geo-graphic based Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to its corporate
customers, allowing specific customer buildings to be monitored
for performance. Offering such SLAs in the past has been impossible
as the only way to prove to corporate customers that network quality
SLA’s are being met, has been through drive testing, which
is the experience of one person at a particular time and route,
or switch data which dilutes the experience of users across the
cell foot print. ariesoGEO provides the actual customer experience
down to every corporate building allowing dropped call rates, coverage,
interference and many other customer centric KPIs to be measured.
Through this nationwide deployment, the operator will be able to
ensure mobile services are delivered to specific locations of high
demand, improve quality and enhance the customer experience. “ariesoGEO
offers a complete change in how an operator views the performance
of their network. No more drive testing, no more reliance on guesswork
and no more prediction modeling. Instead ariesoGEO uses the millions
of calls made over the network to geo-locate problems, measure it,
action it and fix it,” said Shirin Dehghan, CEO, Arieso. “This
is the largest roll-out of ariesoGEO to date and will give the operator
a huge advantage over its rivals in customer satisfaction and network
performance.”
ariesoGEO uses data transmitted by mobiles in the normal course
of conducting a call and requires no additional hardware, such as
GPS in handsets, to operate in real time or historical analysis
mode. By geo-locating tens of millions of calls per day, ariesoGEO
creates a true-to-life picture of network performance as witnessed
by subscribers, whether they are indoors or outdoors, in business
or residential areas, any time of the day, any day of the week.

Arieso
partners with MTN South Africa to prepare its network for the 2010
FIFA World Cup
September
15th 2009
Newbury, UK – 15 September
2009 :ariesoGEO to help direct capital investment into the optimum
areas of MTN’s network
In preparation for the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Arieso, the leaders
in network optimisation and customer centric network management
solutions has been working with MTN South Africa to implement a
major expansion project for its network using its world leading
geo-location solution, ariesoGEO.
Over the past two years, MTN has made extensive investments worth
billions of rands into the upgrading of its core network across
the country, to ensure its readiness for 2010. “Our partnership
with Arieso has enabled us to determine accurately which geographic
areas need the most attention to ensure that our network coverage
is up to speed to handle the expected demand for both voice and
data services,” says Sameer Dave, Chief Technology Officer
of MTN SA.
“As
Africa’s first global sponsor of this major international
event, MTN has a responsibility to ensure that our network provides
a seamless service to our current customers, and the thousands of
international visitors expected in our country next year for the
World Cup.”
Arieso assessed subscriber generated network data to determine exactly
where coverage needed improving. By understanding areas of high
call density, and identifying locations where users experienced
dropped calls, drilled down to an individual building or street
intersection, MTN has been able to target its investments effectively
to achieve maximum benefits for its customers.
For this project, Arieso analysed two week’s worth of data
from MTN’s network and assessed the traffic density, coverage,
interference and pilot pollution to determine which geographic areas
of the network would benefit most from additional investment. The
data was collected in mid June, a period that included two major
sporting events with the British Lions rugby tour and the FIFA Confederations
Cup – a perfect data sample ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
ariesoGEO was able to pinpoint exactly where to channel improvements
without the need for expensive and inaccurate drive testing. The
information will be used to improve mobile broadband coverage country-wide
and reduce the number of dropped calls in the network.
“As
the World Cup approaches, we needed to explore different ways of
enhancing our customer experience,” said Thaigan Govender,
General Manager of Radio Network Planning and Optimisation of MTN
SA.
“With
many thousands of roaming users set to arrive for the World Cup,
MTN needed to ensure that its network was running at the peak of
its capabilities,” continued Thaigan Govender“AriesoGEO
has provided MTN with all the information it needs to make these
decisions and puts it in a strong position to provide a high quality
user experience ahead of this major tournament.” He concluded.
ariesoGEO
uses data transmitted by mobiles in the normal course of conducting
a call and requires no additional hardware, such as network located
probes, or GPS capability in handsets, to provide real time or historical
analysis.

Arieso
introduces the market's first customer centric optimisation module
June
23rd 2009
Newbury,
UK, 23rd June 2009: Arieso introduces the market's first customer
centric optimisation module. New Optimisation module
features Neighbour Planning and Event Based Geolocation capabilities.
Arieso,
the mobile network optimisation company, has released the most advanced
Optimisation Module for its industry leading ariesoGEO geo-location
solution. The module, developed as part of Arieso's ongoing product
enhancement programme, incorporates features including Event Based
Geolocation that analyses the service experience of a subscriber
who is transiting multiple locations, and Neighbour Planning based
on geo-located subscriber measurement data to enhance network performance.
The
Optimisation Module allows engineers to optimize network performance
through a greater understanding of their subscribers' demands and
service experience - using the data generated by ariesoGEO to identify
network adjustments that deliver enhanced coverage to the exact
locations where users are demanding specific services. With this
module, metrics relating to traffic, pilot pollution and handover
can be easily analysed and recommendations for network improvement
presented to senior decision makers.
The
module incorporates a new Neighbour Planning feature, which allows
engineers to automatically determine optimal neighbour lists based
on actual measurements from mobile customers indoors and outdoors.
This makes ariesoGEO the first true customer centric optimisation
product that does not rely on drive testing nor switch counters,
both of which provide a diluted picture of customer experience.
This feature is becoming increasingly important as more network
operators are challenged by increased usage of data on their networks,
and are looking to achieve quality improvement and cost efficiencies
through automation.
Another
groundbreaking feature in the module is Event Based Geolocation,
which allows engineers to understand the network behaviour for a
single subscriber at the various locations they moved during a call.
In the case of loss of service, showing the exact point where the
call dropped, down to a specific building or street intersection.
The results are overlaid onto a map showing engineers where network
coverage needs improving without the need for drive testing.
“At
Arieso we pride ourselves on listening to our customers and delivering
exactly what they need,” said Shirin Dehghan, CEO, Arieso. “All
of these enhancements are based on an understanding of how customers
use our products and together they further strengthen what is already
the industry's leading GEO-location and optimisation solution in
ariesoGEO.”
The
Optimisation Module is available now for ariesoGEO.

European
operator to enhance customer experience with ariesoGEO
March
19th 2009
Newbury,
UK, 19 March 2009: ariesoGEO’s accurate subscriber data analysis
will reduce network costs by up to 60%.
Arieso,
the mobile network optimisation expert, has today announced that
a European operator, part of a leading global group, will be rolling
out ariesoGEO across its network. The software will be used to pinpoint
technical performance issues and help enhance network quality and
the subscriber experience, while reducing network costs.
ariesoGEO uses data transmitted by mobiles in the normal course
of conducting a call and requires no additional hardware, such as
GPS in handsets, to operate in real time or historical analysis
mode. By geo-locating tens of millions of calls per minute, ariesoGEO
creates a true-to-life picture of network performance as witnessed
by subscribers, whether they are indoors or outdoors, in business
or residential areas, any time of the day, any day of the week.
The
operator will use ariesoGEO Enterprise across its network to accurately
pinpoint network problems such as dropped calls, poor signal strength
or low data speed wherever these may occur, even inside buildings.
Through this network-wide deployment, the operator will be able
to enhance the customer experience and reduce expenditure substantially.
As a result, the operator expects to save up to 60% of network problem
resolution costs, comparable to the savings demonstrated in previous
uses of ariesoGEO by other operators.
“Information
about customer location is very important in understanding how to
save money and improve customer care. Knowing what the subscriber
is experiencing, and being able to rectify issues quickly and efficiently,
will give this operator a huge competitive advantage,” said
Paul Turner, VP Global Operations, Arieso. “ariesoGEO will
help the operator accurately geo-locate network problems in order
to reduce customer churn as well as network maintenance and deployment
costs.”
Shirin
Dehghan, CEO, Arieso, said, “It is a fantastic testament to
our track record and the capabilities of our products that this
operator has turned to Arieso to help maintain Quality of Service
and reduce costs in its network. Being able to identify the actual
network performance as experienced by subscribers wherever they
may be, 100% of the time, is one of our unique strengths and will
help our customers significantly improve their competitive position.”

ariesoACP
4.5 will help mobile network operators reduce churn, increase revenue
and make better-informed decisions
March
2nd 2009
Newbury,
UK – 2nd March 2009: Arieso, the mobile network optimisation
expert, has announced the release of version 4.5 of its Automatic
Cell Planning solution, ariesoACP. This latest version extends the
industry-leading ability of ariesoACP to help operators make better
decisions, by offering enhanced options that include advanced high-speed
data modelling as well as sophisticated soft/softer handover and
pilot pollution related features.
Shirin Dehghan, CEO, Arieso, commented: “Our ariesoACP software
has been very successful since we first launched it, saving operators
as much as 30% on their CapEx budgets. We have taken on board customer
feedback and combined that with innovative ideas from our designers
and developers to deliver the most accurate, easy to use and effective
automatic optimisation solution on the market today. In today’s
economic climate, operators need to minimise spend while deriving
maximum value from their networks. The options available in ariesoACP
4.5 ensure that savings are made and that, where investment is critical,
every penny spent will have a measurable impact on increasing revenue
and reducing churn.”
Amongst a number of new features, the ariesoACP 4.5 release includes
a pilot pollution KPI. Pilot pollution is one of the biggest problems
in UMTS and cdma2000 networks. Explicitly considering the pilot
pollution KPI in the automatic optimisation process will allow operators
to produce network plans that address head-on its impact on network
quality and the subscriber experience.
ariesoACP 4.5 also includes a soft/softer handover KPI to enable
operators to more effectively optimise UMTS and cdma2000 networks
- the percentage of calls in soft/softer handover is often ignored
during planning and optimisation, despite the related design guidelines.
With ariesoACP 4.5, operators can more effectively target the required
percentage of calls in soft/softer handover, ensuring that network
quality and capacity are not compromised and that no undue expenditure
is incurred.
This release also extends ariesoACP’s high-speed data modelling
capabilities and now includes enhanced HSxPA modelling for UMTS
HSxPA networks. In the context of increasing support for high uplink
data speeds across markets, this feature enables operators to model
network performance more accurately for high-speed data, allowing
them to make better-informed decisions that yield real-world performance
benefits.
ariesoACP
4.5 is available now.

ariesoGEO
2.0 allows operators to geo-locate, evaluate and optimise the subscriber
experience at lower cost
February
9th 2009
Latest
version offers enhanced subscriber-focused data analysis options
Newbury, UK, 9th February 2009: Arieso, the leading wireless network
optimisation provider, has launched a new version of its Geo-located
Event Observer solution, ariesoGEO, for network performance monitoring
and optimisation. ariesoGEO 2.0 yields an even more detailed picture
of network performance than previous versions. Advanced filtering
capabilities and analysis options allow for more sophisticated geo-location
of the subscriber experience, enabling engineers to make better
decisions on the fly.
Through
the real-time, automated collection and accurate geo-location of
call measurement data, ariesoGEO enables operators to identify and
resolve network performance issues before their subscribers are
even aware of them. In this way, operators can combat churn effectively
by targeting the actual subscriber experience, and even focus in
on high-revenue customers. In addition, ariesoGEO can dramatically
reduce CapEx and OpEx by focusing resources and expenditure on the
real network issues, which drive test or cell-averaged measurements
are unable to help identify.
Shirin
Dehghan, CEO of Arieso, commented: “ariesoGEO has generated
widespread interest in the mobile community for the unprecedented
ease and accuracy it brings to real-time network performance monitoring.
ariesoGEO 2.0 incorporates even more sophisticated measurement analysis
options, and is another proof of our ongoing drive to continuously
enhance the solutions we provide to our clients.”
ariesoGEO
2.0 offers closer integration with the automatic network optimisation
solution, ariesoACP, which can now consider accurate, measurement
based path-loss maps, voice/data traffic maps and neighbour lists,
to deliver even better results. Advanced filtering capabilities
enable users to easily focus on the information of interest, whether
related to a particular area or a specific subscriber group, a subset
of cells or a particular carrier (for multi-carrier networks). Enhanced
analysis options, such as the ability to visually identify overshooting
cells or existing/missing neighbours, are also provided to enable
quick and effective decision-making.
ariesoGEO
2.0 is the latest enhancement to the market leading suite of Arieso
products, which includes ariesoACP (for automatic cell planning
and optimisation) and ariesoCMP (for capital management and planning).
These products will be demonstrated at Mobile World Congress, Barcelona,
from February 16th to 19th, at stand 1E65.

Arieso
and Orbitel secure contract win with a major Turkish network operator
February
6th 2009
Newbury,
UK – 6th February 2009: Arieso and Orbitel secure contract
win with a major Turkish network operator. New distributor partnership
secures early success.
Arieso,
the leading wireless network optimisation provider, has announced
that its recent distributorship agreement with Orbitel, one of Turkey’s
premier service providers, has already resulted in a major customer
win. Orbitel has received a significant order from one of the biggest
network operators in Turkey.
Arieso
entered into a distribution partnership with Orbitel in 2008, and
this first customer win came only a few weeks after the arrangement
was finalised. Orbitel is a well-established provider of telecoms
and communications systems throughout Eastern and Central Europe
and the Middle East, and has offices in Turkey, Iraq and Ukraine.
Orbitel’s clients include NSN, Motorola, Huawei, and Zain.
Arieso’s
optimisation solutions enable operators to optimise their networks
based on the actual subscriber experience. This helps them to deliver

in the world, a primary consideration for the three Turkish operators
will be to maximise the efficiency and effectiveness of their network
operations. Arieso can help operators resolve network performance
issues and save money,” said Francesco Saffioti, EMEA Sales
Director for Arieso. “This success is particularly encouraging
as it came right off the bat, and we look forward to working closely
with Orbitel to achieve growth in all its markets of operation.”
“Arieso’s
optimisation solutions are the best in the industry, and Arieso
is therefore a perfect partner for us,” said Oguz Tunc, Managing
Director at Orbitel. “The Turkish mobile market is an exciting
and rapidly developing one to be involved in, and we hope to continue
this early success in the future.”
